 Was macht einen richtig guten DJ aus? Das gewisse Händchen für die richtige Platte im richtigen Moment? Nun, das kann es nicht sein, wie Pascal Kleiman aus Valencia beweist: Er wurde nämlich ohne Arme und somit auch ohne Hände geboren- und ist trotzdem ein wirklich guter Aufleger!

 Als Pascal 1989 seine ersten Versuche mit dem Mixen machte, hatte er die typischen Probleme eines Anfängers: Saubere Synchronisation und Gigs finden. Seine Behinderung stellte dagegen überhaupt kein Problem dar. Dank des starken Rückhalts in seiner Familie hatte er schon von klein auf gelernt, alle Tätigkeiten, die andere mit ihren Händen verrichten, mit seinen Füßen auszuführen. So kocht er auch für seine Söhne und liefert sich anschließend gerne eine Partie Wii mit ihnen. Auf der Bühne braucht Pascal keine anderen Vorraussetzungen als jeder DJ, lediglich muss er auf Höhe des Mixers sitzen, um mit seinen Füßen ordentlich am Sound schrauben zu können. What is it, that makes a really good DJ? To be specially nimble-fingered on the decks? Well, that can’t be the right definition, as Pascal Kleiman proves: He was born without arms and therefore also without fingers but nevertheless became a really good DJ!

 When Pascal started mixing records in 1989, he experienced the typical problems that beginners experience: Managing neat synchronization and finding gigs. In comparison, his disability caused absolutely no problems for him. Due to a very strong support from his family, he was encouraged to do all the things with his feet that other people do with their hands from the very beginning. With great success: Today Pascal enjoys cooking for his sons, just appreciates playing some Wii games with them afterwards. On stage, he does not need any other equipment like every other DJ, he just needs to seat on the same level as the mixer to twiddle the knobs properly with his toes.
